DIGGING ANCIENT BONES
Paul Sereno, paleontologist
with the University of Chicago,
is dwarfed by his dinosaur find:
tail vertebrae and a femur of
Jobaria tiguidensis, a species
he discovered in 1997 in the
Sahara desert. The animal
lived 130 million years ago
in the Cretaceous period and
was named after Jobar, a figure
from Tuareg mythology.
