Icelandic glaciologist Sigfús
Johnsen examines an ice core
that has been extracted from
a depth of 2180 m. The ice is
roughly 48 000 years old.
Sigfús is with the University
of Copenhagen where the
cores will be taken after some
preliminary analysis.
