BUILT OVER THE RUINS
In favour of the excavation of
Bronze Age Qatna, a village which
was built on top of its ruins was
relocated between 1984 and 1998.
Its inhabitants had to abandon their
houses, mosques and churches
and move to newly-built Mishrife
outside the ancient city walls.
