KNEE-DEEP IN BONES
‘Tomb VII’ is bisected by a rocky
outcrop. The bones of probably
over 100 people seem to have
originally been deposited in wooden
boxes which were stacked in both
chambers. Over time the boxes
collapsed and tumbled, decaying to
dust and scattering their contents
unceremoniously all over the place.
The larger burial objects are
grouped along the walls: stone
vessels and pottery.
