WET ARCHAEOLOGY II
Prehistorian Stefanie Labes has re-
covered a red-deer antler from the
Baltic seafloor off Neustadt/Holstein
in Germany. At a depth of 3.5 m,
divers excavate the refuse of a meso-
lithic settlement from the Ertebolle
period of 4500 BC, when antler was
used for making harpoons and other
tools.
