A SHELFLOAD OF URNS
An urnfield comprising 707 burials
from around 500 BC to 100 AD
was discovered on a stretch of the
NEL construction site near Bobzin.
359 urns were block recovered in
one piece and wrapped in cling film
to stabilize the brittle clay vessels.
They are kept in shelves until opened
and examined by conservators.
