GOLDEN HAND
The hand made of gold was found
in chamber 1 of the royal tomb. The
lack of seams suggests that it was
hammered from one piece on a mold.
Archaeologists are still puzzling
over its purpose; they assume it
was used by the king to symbolically
feed his dead ancestors during the
kispum, a regularly held ritual ban-
quet with the dead which was held
inside the tomb.
